De acordo com o Dicionário OXFORD:

NO ONE
not anyone; no person
No one was at home. There was no one else around. We were told to speak to no one.
Help
(*)No one is much more common than nobody in written English.
NOTHING
1 not anything; no single thingThere was nothing in her bag. There's nothing you can do to help. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me.Nothing else matters to him apart from his job.It cost us nothing to go in. (British English) He's five foot nothing (= exactly five feet tall).
2 something that is not at all important or interesting‘What's that in your pocket?’ ‘Oh, nothing.’We did nothing at the weekend.

Ou seja no one = ninguém (para pessoas) e nothing = nada (nenhuma coisa - usado para pessoas).
(*)Detalhe no one e nobody são inguais mas o primeiro é mais usado.
