"Back street" means "rua secundária/viela/beco".
Back street also means "operating or performed secretly, and typically illegally." That is, certainly a back street lover would be a lover that would take his girl to "have fun" illegally, in perhaps decaying zones, hidden from view. Perhaps because just for the thrills of it, or because he (and her) is (financially) broken.
