"Hit sb up" é usado no sentido de pedir algo a alguém, mais especificamente dinheiro.
A) She hit me up for 50 reals. (Ela me pediu 50 reais.)
B) When he saw his mother, he tried to hit her up. (Quando ele viu a mãe dele, tentou pedir dinheiro a ela.)
