- Stories From The World Over.
IT'S THE LAST FULL WEEK of a storytelling month at the Queens Public Library and it features stories, folk tales, crafts and songs from around the world for every age.
At branches throughout Queens, stories and tales from Poland, Haiti, the Philippines, China, India, Bangladesh, Korea and Latin America are told in both English and native languages. Some programs feature exotic music, dance and other surprises.
This weekend stories and songs from Latin America, Korea, Native America and Africa are offered. A multi-cultural blend of folk tales about dragons, monsters, animals and people of all sizes can be heard today at 4 p.m. at the Mitchell Linden Branch in Flushing. In a programs geared more for teens, true detective stories are told by NYPD detectives. Also for teens there is an oral history of famous magicians presented with live demonstrations.
