(Americans say tenth grade. Canadians say grade ten. I've just celebrated 41 years of living in Canada, so you'll forgive me if I stick to "grade 10.")
When it comes to American English, would there be any difference if one said "in tenth grade" or "in the tenth grade"?
I googled it but couldn't find anything on this issue.
