Por que em palavras the tem um som e só tem outro?
Gostaria de saber o seguinte: por que em frases o som do The é um e ele sozinho tem outro som ex: em frases tem som de D e só tem som de VAN Por quê?

As far as I know "the" is voiced one way (a "da" sound) before a word that begins with consonant, and something like (de/di) when it comes before a word initiated with a vowel.

It might have some practical component to it, if we say "da house" (with r-sound), it would be more effective than saying "da ause", for instance, (neutral h, which is not the case).
