Off the top of my head, you could use: based on ... Or ... take into consideration/account

(1) Based on that, I am going to do this.
(2) I am taking it into consideration/account (in order) to do that.

And a likely question could be asked in the following way:
On what basis are you doing that?
Or "then on what basis are you doing that? (following some previous explanation just made by the other person).

To be honest neither of those sound very good to me. They're both grammatically correct but I wouldn't go with them. But in all fairness it sounds weird in Portuguese to begin with, like, is it me or does it not even sound like a sentence someone would ever say? I don't know... Maybe the OP could change it into something else within the same context so we could get a better idea of what he means and come up with better options.

That does sound better, but then again, i'm not exactly sure what he precisely meant with that sentence.

One example:
“When you are asking your staff whether we should be suspicious about their status, on what basis are you doing that? “Is it on the colour of their skin?

It´s another way to express that you want to know “what do you base that on?” so you know where a person’s input is coming from—as opposed to assuming (that you know).

I hope this clarifies things, feel free to post any follow-up questions.

That does clarify it, thanks. Still strikes me as a bit of an odd-sounding sentence ,though (the one in portuguese, yours sounds okay). I know the context now but If I were to ask that I would put it into something different.
@Leonardo96 I appreciate all your thoughts about the question and perhaps what you think might be slightly different from @VictorH1's question (I mean the context). I would love to see your examples based on your view. Thanks.

Don't worry, Paulo cleared it up for me. It's what I had in mind too but I wanted to make sure. With that being said I think the options he (Paulo) suggested are the most suitable ones to the context at hand.

I am glad that we have the question answered then in a satisfactory way. Thanks. Let´s wait for more comments, since English is a vast language and there are more ways than one to skin a cat.
