Think it would be easier if you could tell us what terms you are exactly looking for.

Take care,

Thanx guys!

When searching for words to describe our personal characteristics or professional traits and skills when looking for a job or writing a resume, it is important to use action verbs to describe your functions and also equally important to use keywords describing the various functions you have performed in jobs.

http://www.job-hunt.org/resumekeywords.shtmlhas many suggestions including looking up job descriptions to know which buzz words are currently in vogue. Nowadays when resumes are submitted electronically, the employer will likely do a search on the keywords that he is interested in in a job candidate.

http://www.job-interview.net/12steps.htmhas a step by step recipe for writing a resume and recommends the reference work Occupation Outlook Handbook at http://stats.bls.gov/oco/oco1002.htm.

http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos068.htmis the description of the job of librarian. Some buzzwords I gleaned from the job description are user services, technical services, and administrative services, reference and children’s librarians, analyzing users’ needs, instructional role. If I were writing a resume, I would be sure to include the buzzword "Instructional role" instead of "teacher" so that the employer knows that I know how to "talk the talk" (i.e., know the cutting edge jargon) in order to entice him to let me show him that I also know how to "walk the walk" (perform the job effectively). When I was looking for work as a recent grad, it was recommended that we use the words "life long learner" and "team player" to describe ourselves.

In the screenshot of a job description from moster.com below, I underlined the key words I would use in a resume or job description.
