Prepare to x for / happy birthday to x for

Hi there

Eu me deparei novamente com uma dúvida sobre o uso de "for" e "to". Ao traduzir para o Inglês a sentença: Ela vai preparar a cama para você. Respondi: She is going to prepare the bed to you. A plataforma considerou como correta, mas também aceitava "for you", que aliás, é a tradução padrão. Também seria correto essa substituição na expressão "Happy birthday to you!" = Happy birthday for you!

Thanks in advance

Last things first then:
If you sing-song it in a birthday you will say "happy birthday to you" (or you won´t have that cake and refreshments...)

1) If someone makes the bed TO you. (he/she is doing something to you, doing a job to you etc. we think of physical activity here.)

2) If someone makes the bed for you. (he/she is doing you a favor, we are thinking the person is providing something for you, "is treating you", is trying to be pleasant, etc)

So, in a birthday party the definition #2 doesn´t apply, don´t you think, in a birthday you are not trying to do you a favor or trying to be pleasant. A birthday party is pleasant by its very nature!
