Preposiçao na frase "coming my way"

Na frase: I see what's coming my way, em português seria "eu vejo o que está vindo em/no meu caminho (ou seria direção?)".
Entre "coming" e "my way" por que não existe uma preposição, como "in" ou "on".

Hey there,

You should read:
(1) https://www.englishexperts.com.br/ampli ... lario-way/

To come one's way = to come to one; befall one.
expression

1. To come to one = ir na direção de alguém.
2. To befall one = cair em alguém; pairar sobre alguém.

EXAMPLES:

1. A bit of good fortune came my way.
Literal: Um pouco de boa sorte veio em minha direção.
Adaptação: Ainda estou com um pouco de sorte / Parece que a sorte ainda está do meu lado.

2. I no longer sit around waiting for opportunities to come my way to help me to grow.
Eu não fico mais sentado esperando oportunidades virem em minha direção para me ajudar a crescer.

There is no need to use a preposition after the verb to come in the previous examples.
Even if you could use some preposition, the meaning of the verb will change in some way.
Shall we talke a look on some phrasal verbs?

Obrigada.
E se eu disser: come in my way, o sentido seria de entrando em minha direção?

CHRIS,

In this case, your sentence will be considered wrong.

You should have said: to come my way.

To come my way = vir em minha direção.

To come in (somewhere) = entrar em (algum lugar).
To come in = entrar (dinheiro).
To come in for something = receber algo (críticas; elogios).

Come on! = vamos!; anda logo!
To come on = ir (progredir).
To come on = acender-se (luzes); começar a funcionar / tocar (rádio, calefação).

Now, if you wanted to enphasize someone or something who has just appeared on your way by chance, you should have used the phrasal verbs to turn up or show up.

You should read this: como-dizer-aparecer-e-desaparecer-do-na ... 15569.html

EXAMPLES:

1. My English book finally turned up.
Meu livro de inglês finalmente apareceu. (o material estava perdido).

2. The fight ended when the police showed up.
A briga parou quando a polícia apareceu. (o phrsal verb utilizado neste exemplo é informal).

3. He appeared from thin air on my way home = He appeared out from thin air on my way home.
Ele apareceu do nada a caminho de casa.

4. My sister told me the muggers came from thin air.
Minha irmã me disse que os assaltantes vieram do nada / surgiram de repente.

I hope we have helped.

Regards,

Ricardo.
