Preposições com o verbo "work": at, with, for

Pela explicaçao do jerry ... é igual ao portugues..sem mais nem menos ..veja :

ele trabalha na petrobras : he work at petrobras
ele trabalha com computadores : he work with computers
ele trabalha para o irmao dele : he work for his brother

Complemento:

Não há uma diferença "gritante", simplesmente:

She works at the hospital. [Ela trabalha no hospital.] => o lugar.
I work with the FBI. [Eu trabalho com o FBI.] => a parceria.
They work for a large corporation. [Eles trabalham para uma grande corporação.] => para quem.

Flavia, até tentei pesquisar o assunto antes de iniciar novo tópico, como sempre fiz, mas não encontrei aquela barrinha de search que tinha antes. Agora é só naquele "busca avançada" no topo direito que a gente vê se o tópico já foi discutido antes?

Oh, yes, Henry, you've got a point. However, I've always been confused when Mulder and Scully introduce themselves by saying "I work with the FBI". I always imagined they said so because by saying "I work AT the FBI", it would imply they worked in an office in the building, which isn't true - they're always out, investigating. I just don't think, in the series context, that their work is an association with the FBI. Well, that's it, then.

Anita, very likely in these cases, we're talking of working in association with another company or police -- in other words, in a coordinated fashion, but not as an employee. There could be a contract involved, however, for specific services.

Jerry, a ideia que eu tinha era basicamente o que seus exemplos descrevem, porém não consigo entender o uso do "with" nos dois exemplos genuínos que postei aqui (sem ser no sentido de com uma pessoa). E agora?

Com a palavra "work" utilizamos:

"at" quando queremos dizer que alguém trabalha em algum lugar sem entrar em muitos detalhes.
carlos works at the bank
I work at the "NOME EMPRESA"

"with" quando você explica com o que você trabalha
I work with projects
I was supposed to be working with one of the Security shift supervisors, finding how someone got access to our sabotage our squirt-boosters in ...

"for" representa posse e utilizamos quando queremos falar para quem trabalhamos.
I work for one of the 10 Best Companies
I work for "NOME EMPRESA"
