Quando VERY não significa "muito" em inglês: Como utilizar
Volta e meia encontro a palavra very em uma sentença e quando traduzo não encontro significado para ela, como em:
"(...)and the very foundations of Olympus will crumble."
"At the very least!"
"I'm the very best!"
Entre várias outras. Seria "very" um meio para enfatizar a informação que se quer passar?

Exatamente isso. Nesses casos age como intensificador de superlativos ou de adjetivos (noção # 2 do dictionary.com)
