Significado de ''Float Away''

Hello, everyone,

I'm listening an audio book and appeared this sentence float away. I'd like to know what's mean? I searched in internet, but I can't find a definition.

Example: "Sue told him about Cristine and how she feared that her friend would float awaylike a leaf

Correct my English case is wrong, because Practice makes perfect.

"... Float away like a leaf" = "... Boiar/ir embora boiando como uma folha"

Correções sugeridas:

"... And this sentence appeared."
" I'd like to know what that means."
"I searched the Internet (for it)."
"Correct ... in case it is wrong."

E você ainda poderia corrigir "... In case it is..." por "... If it is..."
