Estou com outra dúvida : Não estou sabendo quando utilizar Stay e Stood.
Stood é passado de Stay?

1. Stay: ficar, permanecer

Stay here with us. [ = Fique aqui, permaneça aqui conosco.]
We'll stay in a hotel. [ = Nós vamos ficar em um hotel.]

O passado de "stay" é "stayed" - este é um verbo regular.


2. Stand: ficar de pé, estar de pé

- I'd rather stand. [= Prefiro ficar de pé.]
- Stand up! [ = Levante-se!]

O passado de "stand" é "stood" - este é um verbo irregular.

Ex.: We all stood for the national anthem. [Todos nós ficamos de pé por causa do hino nacional.]

Donay, obrigada! Na frase : "You stood by my side" = "Você esteve do meu lado"

Já na frase : "I'll stay by your side" = "Eu vou estar do seu lado"

Donay, fiquei com outra duvida > Quando devo usar "Stayed" e "Stood" ?
Não é tarefa fácil estabelecer todas as definições. Falando por mim, "you stood by my side" equivale a "você esteve do meu lado por um tempo'' ou "você ficou de pé do meu lado''. "Stayed" enfatiza a ideia de "permaneceu" em oposição a ''foi embora''.

"Stayed" é passado de "stay".
"Stood" é passado de "stand".

He stayed home. [Ele permaneceu em casa.]
He stood here. [Ele ficou de pé aqui.]
