Seria normal (em um sentido carinhoso) filhos usando esse termo para se referir ao pai no inglês?
O porquê dessa pergunta é que sugar pode ser usado em um sentido carinhoso em determinados contextos assim como daddy.
E eu sei que sugar daddy/sugar mama é usado em outros sentidos, como por exemplo, de um homem velho que presenteia uma moça mais nova do que ele.

Sugar daddy só é usado nesse sentido, o homem mais velho que namora ou casa com uma mulher mais nova e a mantém.

Generally wealthy, (un)married sugar daddies usually court and eventually shack up with beautiful mistresses who more often than not enjoy wearing sumptuous or fashionable dresses and pearl or diamond necklaces or whatever gemstones (the rarest, the better), receiving extremely expensive gifts and traveling around the world. This they will do repeatedly till they get bored and start menacing to file for a divorce if married. Or simply leave the guy once the wealth runs out for yet another extremely rich and wealthy sugar daddy to do it all over with again. Forgot to add that sugar daddies and their beautiful, kept mistresses will, although not often, favor kinky, wild sex at any place they can throw wild parties in. Mistresses also may unhesitatingly abort their babies in case of unwanted pregnancies.
