Hi friends, how are you?

I was learning in Entertainment Weekly book a report of Hancock film and I saw a phrase:

"The superhero film grossed $66 million from Friday through Sunday, according to early estimates. "

I cannot catch that word "through" at middle friday and sunday. Why he used throught instead of "to"?

Thanks,
bye.

It's because sometimes "through" means "till", not "to". For example: "Monday through Wednesday" means in portuguese "de segunda até quarta", or "de segunda a quarta". This word "through" is used in the USA. I have no information about this usage in England. That's it! =D
