Significado de "Bottom line e Bottom of line"

Significado de "Bottom line e Bottom of line"
I've been seeing this expression lately and I'd like if someone could explain it better to me, I was watching House yesterday and he said "Bottom line" but I think I've heard "Bottom of line" I checked on the dictionary and I couldn't find I've just found "Bottom line" but it's not the same meaning I'm looking for, I think.

Does it have the same meaning of "in the end of the day"?
Can you guys give me some examples?

I saw a song now which is called "the bottom line" and I was reading the translation and the person translated as "a moral da historia".

Thanks a lot.

Eu concordo com "moral da história". Pra mim, "bottom of line" não teria nenhum significado figurado. A expressão comum é "bottom line", significando, como você suspeita, "in the end of the day", ou "when all is said and done", "the net result", etc.

"What's the bottom line?" (resultado, conclusão, desfecho)
"The bottom line is, there is no more money in the bank."
Etc

Hi guys!

For me "at the end of the day" sounds better than "in the end of the day".

Bottom line, this game sucks = Resumindo, esse jogo é horrível

Como ficaria the bottom line nesse caso? Seria moral da história?

Hi Claudemircloud,

The bottom line in this case probably means opinião final, resumo final (sobre o show) (i.e. O mesmo sentido).

Valeu Philiphis,

Recentemente li no livro "Deep Work" do Cal Newport o seguinte trecho:

None of these behaviors would survive long if it was clear that they were hurting the bottom line.

Bons estudos!
