Como dizer "quem manda..." em inglês

Olá, pessoal do EE!
Gostaria de saber o equivalente em inglês para o 'quem manda...'.
Por exemplo:
- Estou sem dinheiro.
- Claro, quem manda não trabalhar?
Ou:
- Ele me deu uma cantada.
- Claro, quem manda ser bonita.

Obrigada!

Acho que você poderia falar:

That's the consequence of not working. If you worked you would have money.

That's the cosequence of being so beautiful.

Sorry, work does not necessarily mean receiving money. If you volunteer, for example, there is no money involved.

Minha sugestão:

Who told you to…? = quem te manda…? (Dic. Da Porto Editora)

Ex.:
Who told you not to get a job? = quem te manda não arranjar emprego?
Who told you to be beautiful = quem te manda ser bonita?
Who told you to be afraid? = quem te manda ter medo?

I stood there working with my hands but my mind was far away. Just as I felt like the weight of it all was squeezing all of the breath out of my lungs I heard these words:
Who told you to be afraid?”
Who? Well, I don’t know but it seems like my only option. Things are scary right now.
Who told you to be afraid?”
I remembered a slithering snake whispering fear drenched words to a woman so long ago. Be afraid. That you don’t have enough. That you are missing out. That God isn’t providing well or what you really need.
Only they don’t sound like that. The sound like:
“You’re so overwhelmed. You’ll never catch up.”

That's what you get for...Isso é o que você ganha por...
É um bom equivalente
That's what you get for being so beautiful - É isso o que ganha por ser tão bonita/ quem manda ser tão bonita
