Olá, pessoal.

Ter xodó por alguma coisa é ter valor sentimental por alguma coisa.

Ex: Esse meu fusquinha tá bem velho já mas tenho um xodó por ele(tenho um grande valor sentimental por ele)

Algo similar em Inglês?

He likes to do several things, but he is fascinated for flying.

Ha ha, Estudante that brings to my mind that guy that said "I am in love with my car."

One sentence with "fond of"
I am very fond of my little Toyota Yaris.

Other guy may (or may not) say "I am not quite fond of that type of car..."

Xodó = orgulho = queridinho(a); favorito(a).
>> To be someone's pride and joy
>> To be the apple of someone's eye

You're my pride and joy.
>> Você é o meu (maior) orgulho. = Você é o meu xodó.
>> Tenho (um grande) orgulho de você. = Tenho um xodó por você.

She is her parents' pride and joy.
>> Ela é o xodó dos pais. = Ela é o orgulho dos pais.

And also, in the classroom environment we can say that someone is the teacher´s pet (o xodó do professor/o(a) aluno(a) favorito(a) do professor. )

He is the darling of the house/he is very dear to the family/...very dear to me. And is pampered by everyone around here. (don't say it in his face, he/she will get very spoiled :) )

This Beetle (car) is everyone's darling in the family.
Everyone in my family is fond of this Beetle.
Everyone in my family is fascinated by this Beetle.

And other ways, let's wait for more.
