Uso do "to" nessa frase

Na série de livros " A rebelde do deserto (título em PT-BR)", o primeiro livro da série chama-se "the Rebel of the sands" traduzido como " A rebelde do deserto, já o segundo livro chama-se "traitor to the throne", traduzido como: traidora do trono, por que no segundo caso (traitor to the throne) usa-se o "to" em vez do "of".

Dear Leandro,
Good evening.

Certain nouns, adjectives and verbs are followed by particular prepositions.
"Traitor" is a noun, which can be followed by two prepositions "to" e "of", and so we have a slightly difference.
Shall we take a look?

>> Traitor to:

- He is a traitor to his country.

- Lisa considers me a traitor to the very essence of America, providing a helping hand to those in genuine need.

(>> The preposition to is also used to indicate a relationship.)

- He was like a brother to me, and my only friend at university.
_
>> Traitor of:

- He is a traitor of the throne.

- Under this modest appearance, this saintly hypocrisy, the two great Doctors of the Church, St. Basil and St. Ambrose testify continually that he is the greatest traitor of the seas.
_

I hope we've helped.

So long,

Ricardo.

"enemies to the south" (inimigos ao sul)
"Enemies to the west" (inimigos à oeste)

Por que o uso do "to" nessas frases, e não from, por exemplo, indicando origem?

Dear Leandro,

You got it very well!

I'd like to make some notes about the second question.

>> Enemies from the south. (Inimigos do sul; que vieram do sul).
- The preposition "from" is used to show what the origin of somebody/something is.
(Although the enemies are from the south, it does not indicate precisely if they were born there. It just indicates where they came from.)

>> Enemies to the south = (Inimigos ao sul; inimigos localizados ao sul).
- The preposition "to" is used to describe something / someone located in the direction mentioned from a certain position.

More examples:

1. Place the cursor to the left of the first word.
Mova o cursor à esquerda da primeira página.

2. There are mountains to the north.
Há montanhas ao norte.

So long,

Ricardo.

Eu vi um filme chamado " to the bone", e fiquei em dúvida quanto à tradução. O que significa?

Você poderia me dar exemplos de mais outros significados que o "to" tem?Por que pra mim o "to" até você me ajudar, correspondia apenas a preposição "para" do português.
