In a difficult situation:
The coach doesn't want to put the 16-year-old forward in a tight spot.
Sei não (?). Não querer colocar em campo uma jovem promessa prematuramente é por receio de queimar o jogador.
Alguém tem alguma sugestão?

Other way to see that is that one:
"by precaution, the coach doesn´t want to use the 16-year-old forward for the entire half so the player will play unencumbered by high/impossible expectations. And also to lessen chances of likely injuries."
Oh my! I am writing like a football/soccer fan...So much explanation! Okay, the "tight spot" sentence would do.
