TO BE LOVED X TO BE BLESSED X TO BE LUCKY
You should read:
(1) To be blessed.
(2) To be gifted.
1) blessed >> abençoado(-a); virtuoso(-a) = bem-aventurado(-a).
[adjective]
Ex.: We have been heaven blessed
>> Nós fomos abençoados pelos céus.
>> Nós temos sido abençoados pelos céus.
2) lucky >> sortudo(-a) = bem-aventurado(-a).
[adjective]
>> You're so lucky! >> Como você é sortudo.
3) loved >> amado(-a); benquisto(-a); adorado(-a); querido(-a); desejado(-a) = bem-aventurado(-a).
[adjective]
>> I'm not lucky. I'm loved. >> Não sou sortudo. Sou querido.
Note: Some people, especially the extreme religious ones do not agree considering lucky as a synonym of blessed. They consider it as a disrespectful attitude towards God and a bad example to appreciate His doings. Another reason is directly associated to the risks of gambling. Many religious people wonder if gambling is a sin and what God has to say about it. According to many sacred books those people believe in, the passages are related to God's warning against the temptation. It is quite a complex to use both words - lucky and blessed as synonyms nowadays. So, it is not a simple case of finding more classical context to the word bem-aventurado; it is a case of how to use it properly without misunderstandings or, in a way, you believe people will comprehend you perfectly, especially if you are invited to present a speech, lecture, etc.
