Exemplo:
  • One-time deal. I want 25. Take it or leave it. [Oferta única. Eu quero 25. É pegar ou largar.]
Espero que tenham gostado. Bons estudos!

Olá,
Outro dia, estudando essa mesma expressão (take it or leave it), aprendi que ela também pode ser usada em um outro contexto, em frases como "I can take it or leave it".

I don´t see it this way. If am mistaken somebody correct me, please. But, I can take it or leave it would be suitable to one option.

Example from Cambridge Dictionary:
My sister's absolutely crazy about chocolate whereas I can take it or leave it.
It´s indifferente to me, it´s just the same if I have chocolate or not. whereas to my sister, it´s not just the same, she is just crazy about it!

Someone give you two options - X and Y, how do you (as option) would have two preferences, perhaps you have another preference but not a case of
"I can take it or leave it." (notice the ambiguity
- watching a movie at home - I can take it or leave it. (it´s okay, it´s possible)
-watching a movie at the theater - I can take it or leave - (it´s also okay, very likely answer.)

But certainly not both, when you say that you would be stating that "watching a movie at home OR watching a film at the movies" -"I can´t take it or leave it" one gets puzzled to which one. Because the question was about one or the other option.

Anyway, we could reword the answer to "neither one nor the other" and offer a third option, or state that none are our cup of the tea.
Paulo,
My bad.
P.S.: Vou atualizar minhas anotações!

You´re welcome.
He who never tripped over some minutes of English cast the first stone! ;-) At least you are avid to participate, interact and bring a fresh topic to us, so you are welcome.
I have made thousands of mistakes, and learned from some of them, some I am prone to repeat. Yes, lightning do strikes the same place twice with me, ha ha!

It's always helpful to learn from your mistakes because then your mistakes seem worthwhile.

Também posso falar catch and/or release?
