Obrigado.

One way to translate that would be "it´s taking forever".

I’m still working on my IRB protocol—it’s taking forever! They keep sending it back and asking me to do one more step . . . It’s crazy, but it’s been a neat opportunity to get to know my professor better and to learn the research process. Research isn’t all that easy, and compiling it afterwards will also be a challenge.

{Eu ainda estou trabalhando na minha pesquisa/no meu estudo (da faculdade) - e..."está de rosca" (tá demorando pra dedéu! Parece que não vai sair nunca.../não tá saindo do lugar...) }

Of course, in English we can state something in lots of different ways, showing impatience, being ironic, etc. So, it goes with the situation/mood, and so on.

Thus, more ways to express that:
Is it so hard/complicated to do what I have asked you (to do)?
Or still "why is it so hard to do what I have asked you?

OR what it takes to do what I have asked you?

Man, that is taking forever! Is it normal to be that way? Is that so difficult/complicated like this?

Etc etc...and other ways, so let´s wait for more from other members of the EE.
