Por que se usa o "they" em "Cause even the stars they burn"?

Eu vi a frase "Cause even the stars they burn" em uma música do Jason Mraz e não consegui entender o porquê do uso do "they". Alguém poderia explicar?

Culpa da 'bençoada' vírgula que teima em não aparecer. E em se tratando de letras de músicas então, ai é que ela não dá as caras mesmo! Heheheh

It´s lyrics, so they can go colloquial and skip grammar and all that jazz. But it seems that that is a catch there, like an intended play with words with "cause even the stars, they burn" (até as estrelas se acendem/incendeiam - como no céu as estrelas cadentes - burning star, por que elas "acendem" no céu.)
Here the focus on the star.

But then, with "causee even the stars they burn" as if "someone" would burn them (would burn the stars I mean).

Well, perhaps I am a bit off the mark on that one, but somehow it sprang to my mind.
