Pensei em "die down", seria correto?

My suggestion:

To fizzle out.

O relacionamento entre o casal acabou esfriando.

The couple's relationship has fizzled out.

That stadium used to scare the adversaries before, but that(pressure) has fizzled out and today it is just an ordinary stadium.

Bye!

And more, about the relationship thingun:

The couple´s relationship has grown stale.
A degree higher than fizzled out, I feel, because fizzled out conveys a certain "still there", the fire has just lost the spark, it was in the last throes, though. Whereas with "grown stale" it could be, but it could have finished (at least in the head of the one feeling it).

The couple´s relationship has lost the/that spark.

Curiously, it is more usual the other way around: to find "rekindle the spark/ways to keep the spark alive/how to rekindle the fire/light your fire...etc.
It could mean two things: English-speaking countries do care about relationships OR they say a thing and do the other. Or half-half, but then could be another percentage.
Or the matter is a sore thing to deal with, so they go for the positive side.
The negative side would be to the one feeling it to find the words themselves!
