Buy room in a fridge - Tradução em português

Eu encontrei no site do dicionário de cambridge uma frase de exemplo que não entendi o seu significado.

A frase é esta:
Now, suppose he can buy room in a fridge overnight for the price of one piece of cake.

A parte que não compreendi é 'buy room in a fridge'. No google tradutor a frase ficou:
Agora, suponha que eu possa comprar um quarto em uma geladeira durante a noite pelo preço de um pedaço de bolo.

Será que se trata-se de algum sentido figurado ou alguém sabe uma tradução melhor?

The only thing I can think of is that somebody rents space in his fridge; then (perhaps) a group of people pay as they use the space (room).

Probably the person means that there´s a system in which you can rent space for the night, and there´s the likelihood of somebody paying for the rent for the price of piece of cake.
That is, for peanuts - a "stealing" (bargain) like they say. But then, assuming a piece of cake is not expensive in the area! ;-)

In other words, I understand it as "buying storage room". It wouldn't be a common event in the so-called developed world, but then one never knows! Plus, the sentence comes from elsewhere, so no context available. So, the developed world thing is just a passing comment.

Don´t sweat the small stuff Jhony, sometimes we bump into some peculiar sentences in English, or even some habits at someplace. Sometimes we get puzzled and just move on (if it doesn't get coming and coming again, of course).

This is the better we could do with it, at least it´s the most likely explanation to it.
