A idéia é de que alguém pode se confundir a árvore com a floresta, confundir a parte com o todo, ou se fixar/apegar/prender minuciosamente aos detalhes (dar atenção demais) esquecendo a idéia geral, ou o a verdadeira vantagem no longo prazo.

If one acts the proverbial "judging the book by the cover." he may not seeing the forest for the trees.
