Yoooo!

eu traduziria como:

There's a bank on the next corner to the post office- tem um banco na próxima esquina do correio/ do lado dos correios.

greetings,

There's a bank on the next corner to the post office.

the corner after the post office?
the corner opposite the post office?
the corner after the corner post office?

Henry,

There's a bank on the next corner
to the post office

Greetings,

Murilo

Yeah, 99% that the sentence is wrong.

I asked to a friend from USA and he said: the sentence doesnt sound right

And a friend from England said it is almost correct and probably means in front of.
[6:03:55 PM] me: yeah
Do you think this sentence is right?
[6:03:57 PM] me: There's a bank on the next corner to the post office.
[6:04:36 PM] her: There is a bank on the next corner
[6:04:49 PM] me: in front of the post office?
[6:04:51 PM] her: its almost correct
[6:06:03 PM] her: yes
[6:06:12 PM] her: that is correct
[6:06:26 PM] me: how can I fix the phrase?
[6:06:51 PM] her: what you said was correct
[6:07:09 PM] me: but you said that it is ALMOST correct
[6:07:24 PM] her: There is a bank on the next corner, in front of the Post Office
[6:07:35 PM] her: this is correct
[6:08:08 PM] me: thank you :D
[6:08:27 PM] her: de nada
[6:09:10 PM] her: i will always help you with questions in English
[6:09:19 PM] me: :)
[6:09:26 PM] me: Thanks a lot!!!!
[6:09:51 PM] her: well sometimes I need help in Portuguese as well hahahah
[6:09:56 PM] me: So probably who wrote that sentence meant "in front of" and not "beside", right?
[6:10:04 PM] me: Yeah, Sim!!
[6:10:04 PM] her: more than you neeed help in English
[6:10:12 PM] me: Com certeza! For sure!
[6:10:17 PM] her: yes I think so
[6:11:44 PM] her: but you could also say " There is a Bank on the next corner, next to the Post Office "
[6:12:37 PM] me: yeah, but in this case we don't know exactly where the post office is relative to the bank, right?
[6:12:51 PM] her: as long as you say " There is a ....."
[6:13:03 PM] me: we would only know that they are near from each other
[6:13:50 PM] her: no but you are saying where it is by saying !" In front of or next to....." that determines where the bank is
[6:14:01 PM] her: in relation to the pPost Office
[6:14:51 PM] me: yeah. hehe
I meant that we wouldn't know if it is besides or in front of the Post Office
[6:15:27 PM] her: no..... only by stating in your your sentence
[6:16:00 PM] her: if you say next to it is immediately by the side of it
[6:16:23 PM] her: and in front of ....means nearby but not beside it
[6:16:33 PM] her: does this make sense ???
[6:16:46 PM] me: yeah teacher :D

I asked another friend from the USA and she told me it might be wrong.
So we can sure say that, some people may mix it up as in all languages, like when you want to write something and don't know whether that's right or not.... or... it might be from a specific area, I dunno.

Gracias! (opps spanish nao, pelo amor de Deus, I mean, Thanks!)
