Pessoal, peço ajuda na tradução da frases abaixo:

Ah, Atenir. While on the subject, "Maria took the fall" could led people to think that she was imprisoned/comdemned/convicted/slammed with prison term or something else.

That is, by reading it, one could ask "what did she do wrong to have legal problems? (or facing the music for something wrong, for that matter)"

Ainda bem que gripe não pega pela internet.

At least we don't catch the flu virus through the internet.

(I guess internet computer viruses don't infect us. They just drive us insane.)

You also may want to give a cause to the fallind down (kinda explaining it.)

Maria stumbled, and fell down, hurting her knees.
Maria lost her balance, and fell down, hurting her knees.
Maria suffered injuries (scratchs) on her knees after having fallen down.

And many other ways.
Pessoal, muito obrigado pela contribuição de todos. Acho que todas estão corretas.

Depois de muito pesquisar e conversar pela internet, cheguei à seguinte tradução.

1 - Maria fell and hurt her knees.

2 - It's a good thing that the flu (or cold) can't be caught through the internet or
It's a good thing that you can't catch a cold through the internet. (considerando que em ambos os casos como uma frase na voz passiva).

Thanks very much.
Thanks PPaulo for explanation.

In fact, I think the first translation have a mistake. It is better use just "fell".

Atenir, I think Marcio is right. My tip is, it has to do with verb tense. ;)
Valeu Paulo e Marco, thank you very much.
