Lembrando que Left 4 Dead também pode ser "Deixado para Morrer
I would agree with Thiago on that one, but obviously it conveys the sense of "deixado pra trás para morrer" (for lack of a better expression) in that game.
It seems like a fixed expression, that´s why it´s a bit odd to think it in grammarly terms.

Of course, just translating "deixado pra morrer" without thinking about a surrounding situation could be an oversimplification to Brazilian ears and eyes (like mine). In a way, when they see the game, comes to their mind, it´s assumed that there is a situation in that they were "considered dead" because the extraction helicopter had crashed.
Sometimes is a situation "it´s no use trying to rescue or come back" because staying there is sucha a danger for the rescuer that they would put their lives on the line, would be sure death, etc.

There are situation in which it seems like they really use the expression with the meaning of simply "deixar pra morrer" , but I refer to the case of the game and similar situations. Sometimes there are English nuances in English that don´t exist in Portuguese, so will leave other cases to the experts!
