Turn out to be = Vir a ser / tornar-se (no sentido de surpreender)
Nobody thought Jill would be able to finish college, but she TURNED OUT to be one of the best students.

Nobody thought Jill would be able to finish college, but she ENDED UP BEING one of the best students.

All roads lead to Rome.
sim Flávia, estou de acordo
nossa...desculpa, discordo.

turn out, end up, tanto faz

Complementando:
Realmente pode, e a maneira que a Flávia fez ficou boa - 'ended up being'.
Boa sorte!

"I've met a guy who at the beginning seemed quite dull to me but it turned out he was the funniest and most interesting person I'd met that week"
different from
"I've met a guy and he was so interesting and kind that we ended up changing phone numbers to meet up again'

Como ficaria a tradução dessa frase: All of a sudden, the phone starts to ring, and it turns out it's my mother.
Turn out seria perceber?
