Squeeze (in soccer) - Tradução em português

Olá! Estou fazendo uma tradução de um manual de futebol e me deparei algumas vezes com a palavra 'squeeze' relacionada à defesa. Não consigo imaginar o que possa ser... já achei que pudesse ser barreira, uma vez que os jogadores ficam 'esmagados' e 'espremidos' para a bola não passar, mas não é isso... pensei que pudesse estar relacionado à intimidar o adversário, mas tb não consigo achar uma equivalência em Português.
Estou desde ontem tentando achar uma possível tradução, mas tá difícil! Será que alguém pode me ajudar??? thx!

He added that the team would have to practice in the same venue the following night, Jan. 10, and there again on Jan. 12. On the plus side, the Oilers are getting a new all-weather field. Problem is, that field – - which was expected to have been up and going by now – - is not yet ready for play. Patience is running short.
"It’s just not fair to these kids," Siles says. "They work hard. They are committed."

The Iranian football federation bans two players indefinitely for their butt-squeeze celebration.
