Please, do your demonstration out on the street, giving free passage on street (or all over the place, etc), block traffic, and so on.

Yet in another tack, they could say "you can do your demonstration out on the street" (if you are an authority and is giving instructions).

I think of protests as having to do with the expression, and demonstration as something more physical. But I could be wrong or not on the mark, let's wait further insights...

To make protest --> Fazer protesto

To take protest --> Levar protesto
