This came to a sharp end at the neck and below the ears - Tradução em português

"Looking closer at their faces, I saw some strange differences in their sweet prettiness. They all had the same wavy hair, and this came to a sharp end at the neck and below the ears.

Esse texto me deixou bem confuso.

Não entendo bem como funciona a estrutura "came to a sharp".

They all had the same wavy hair, and this came to a sharp end at the neck and below the ears.

A "wavy bob" (neck-lenght) style.

This example from Reverso would be useful to explain the "came to a point":
Based on the U-shaped kerf floor, the weapon that was used to cause this wound was some sort of thin, cylindrical object that came to a sharp point.

See, it can simply be translated into the present tense, when describing something. But then, it suggests that there's an order of description. That is, as if you were observing the thing and ends at the end, so it ends there - a sharp point.
Of course, somehow if we leave out "the sharp point" of both sentences we are studying, it changes a lot. So, the "came to..." is a game-changing part of the narrative.
