There´s a proverb that says that "physician´s faults are covered with earth.
Or others will say: “if error comes from doctors, the grave will bury their mistakes”. But then mistakes by reckless or careless and imprudent driving, or dealing carelessly with eletricity, etc... would have the same output.
So, it´s just a way of speaking and one stereotyping from the proverb that came first from the French (and, as matter of fact, not as much used in English as it is in Portuguese.)
