If you make a piece of music, etc. (all) your own, you make it famous by the way you perform it.
So, in a way, I think the guy there wanted to state something like "deixar sua marca/fazer algo que interessa/que muda etc, você mesmo." Indeed it´s a stretch from the word´s original sense, but with music...one never knows!
Or maybe, as pointed out by Artful, it´s missing something. Then it could change all the meaning.
