13
Oi, pessoal! Finalmente colocando a minha apresentação aqui.

Hi, I’m Carmen, I was born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. I’m married with two children and a granddaughter. I have been studying English since I was a child, and when I was fourteen I started to give private classes to friends and younger students. I studied English at CCBEU for three years, but in 1976 I went to college to become a dentist and decided to continue studying English by myself. I graduated in 1979 at UFSM, but I stopped working as a dentist in 1983. I never stopped giving classes, though. I borrowed and bought English books whenever I could. Nowadays I also use the internet to help me with my classes. I keep studying every single day and I always try to find something new to learn and share with my students as well. I think teaching is the best way of learning.

My name is Carmen. Born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, I am married and have two children and a grandchild. (or - ...and one grandchild).
Perfeito, nem me ocorreu. Manter a consistência e no caso não especificar nada. Valeu mesmo, PPaulo.
At the age of 14, I started tutoring some friends of mine, and also some younger students.

I am married and I have two children”. Humorosa?
Citando alguns usos, achei um formal também
Exemplo do Law insider: “Who needs a Will: Married with children or single with children may need a Will”
Alguns exemplos do uso informal aqui:
Ref. quora
Obrigada outra vez.

Valeu! Abração

Redseahorse
Just forgot to thank you for reminding me that “from” is the perfect preposition here. Although we are allowed to use at, it doesn’t mean we should. I think my grammar is a little rusty
Oi Carmen,

Permita-me algumas sugestões, com base no texto do Redseahorse:

Hi,
I am Carmen. I was born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. I am married, and I have two children and a granddaughter.
Poderia ficar:
Hi,
My name is Carmen. Born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, I am married and have two children and a granddaughter.

I have been studying English since I was a child, and when I was fourteen, I started to give private classes to friends and younger students.
Poderia ficar:
I've been studying English since my childhood. At the age of 14, I started tutoring some friends of mine, and also some younger students.
I studied English at CCBEU for three years, but in 1976 I went to college to become a dentist, and I decided to continue studying English by myself.
Poderia ficar:
I studied English at CCBEU for three years. In 1976, I went to college to become a dentist, so I had to quit the English course, but decided to continue studying English by myself.
In 1979, I graduated from UFSM, but I stopped working as a dentist in 1983. I have never stopped teaching, though.
Poderia ficar:
In 1979, I finally graduated from UFSM but stopped working as a dentist only four years later. I have never stopped teaching, though.
5) Com a frase "back in the day", funciona bem com o "nowadays" que tu colocaste da sentença seguinte. E devemos reduzir o uso do pronome
I borrowed English books and sometimes I bought them. Nowadays, I also use the internet to help me with my classes.
Poderia ficar:
Back in the day, I borrowed and bought several English books. Nowadays, I also use the internet to help me with my classes.
I keep studying every single day, and I always try to find something new to learn and share with my students as well.
Poderia ficar:
I keep studying every single day. I always try to find something new to learn and to share with my students as well.
Back in the day, I borrowed and bought several English books. Nowadays, I also use the internet to help me with my classes.
I think teaching is the best way of learning.
Poderia ficar:
I firmly believe teaching is the best way of learning.
O texto final poderia ficar:

Hi,
My name is Carmen. Born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, I am married and have two children and a granddaughter. I've been studying English since my childhood. At the age of 14, I started tutoring some friends of mine, and also some younger students. I studied English at CCBEU for three years.

My two cents:
My name is Carmen. Born and raised in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, I am married and have two children and a grandchild. (or - ...and one grandchild).

For consistency's sake, since the text doesn't mention having two sons, or two daughters, or still two children -a daughter and a son.
Calll me a grammar nitpicker, :-) because many people have used the above structure (granddaughter, I mean), it's okay in informal ways. But I think it rings as extra (too much) personal information.
Anyway, it's up for the writer, perhaps out of their writing style.

Fine by me, keep up the good work, and count us. I will act as a grandpa or grandma here, so proud of the child that if there is some flaw I will let it pass! :-)
Kidding around, if there some potential improvement others will chime in. Again, it's fine by me.
