Como dizer "eu não estaria aqui para contar a história" em inglês
Procuro como dizer isso, pois não sei se a tradução literal ("I wouldn't be jere to tell the story" ou "I wouldn't be here") seria perfeitamente entendida por um falante da língua inglesa.
Frase para contexto: "Se eu não tivesse desviado do carro, eu não estaria aqui para contar a história".

Uma sugestão que não tem erro:
If I hadn't dodged the car, I wouldn't be alive to tell the story.
Ou
I wouldn't be standing here to tell the story.
Quanto à naturalidade da tradução que você mencionou, preciso da confirmação de outros colaboradores pra ter certeza, mas acho que está ok.
