Vocabulário de Filmes e Séries em Inglês: Sword x Blade

Deadpool 2020 115
Vejo muito em filmes, séries e games as palavras Sword e Blade serem usadas como Espada em inglês. Qual é a diferença?

He has a blade.
He has a sword.
He uses a blade.
He uses a sword.

In fiction and histories sword and blade are used interchangeably.

However, technically speaking a sword has two sharpened sides, a blade would have just one sharpened edge (a knife, axe, for example, would be examples of blades). We would think of a sword as lengthy in kind, and a long sword' even lengthier (to the point of being rather unwieldy to draw - to some people).

Hinative (a website) has a better explanation:
A sword is a long, flat weapon, usually sharp on one or both sides, with a hand grip at the bottom, and a point at the end (spada [ don't make confusion with the word "spade"]).
