You wrote it right the first time. As far as pisca-pisca, our language reformers resolved not to drop the hyphen. I had to go check the new version of Houaiss dictionary for that. The inclusion of the hyphen or the outright omission of it has taken some getting used to.
On topic.
Yule or Yuletide = Christmastide (although Wikipedia says native speakers of English in England and other parts of the English speaking world more commonly now call the modern Yule or Yuletide "Christmas" (along with "Christmastide")).
Marcio, thanks a lot for the Portuguese tip. Portuguese it is difficult, indeed!
I'll make sure not to forget about the hyphen rule!
Thanks

Gostaria de saber porquê usa-se "stocking" para aquelas meias na chaminé e não socks? Stocking não seria uma meia-calça?
It can be both (exclusively, I mean, not both at the same time). Hosiery/legwear/tights/nylon as you meant, or a sock.
Ref. thesaurus
The etimology suggests "stockings" coming from the sense of "close-fitting garment covering the foot and lower leg." It comes from the Proto-germanic origins.
