A combination of all/some of the above, plus sleep early. The early bird catches the sleepy, unwary worm.

Also, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

In my humble thought, having good thoughts and healthy diet, going for a walk every day and living for a life purpose are essential to anyone who wants to maintain a healthy life. For sure if we follow these steps, a healthy future won't be a tough reality .

See you!

Rafael,

Try this rewrite on for size, and please let me know what you think about it.

" I my humble opinion, maintaining; positive thoughts, a healthy diet, walking every day, and having a purpose for living are essential to anyone who wants to mainain his health. I firmly believe that if we follow these simple precepts a healthy future is assured."

Bill,

I have this doubt a long time. You wrote "...are essential to anyone who wants to maintain his health...". You used his because it relates to anyone as possessive pronoun. In the following sentence what possessive pronoun is expected:

"I spoke to someone(somebody, anybody,a person) who was with ___ car."? I think it is also expected his, but I am not sure about that.

This doubt drives me crazy, because I have heard some quite blurry answers.

Thank you in advance!

Refael,

Again an excellent question, either his or her is correct, in this context.

Hey Bill,

I've got your explanation. But in the case below, where I know nothing about who was, I mean, man or woman, what possessive pronoun should I use?

"Someone knocked on the door, but I didn't see who was because I took so long to answer the door, I just realized that person lost ___ wallet, which was found on the floor."

I think it's not big deal if I use his. Am I on the right track?

Again, thanks for all.

Rafael,

How about using the non gender specific "their" in this instance? Also I would change your sentence to read "Someone ... see who was there because... wallet, which I found on the floor.

Bill,

You solved a huge doubt of mine. After reading you reply, I made some search about that and I found just what you said, you know, when we're not sure about using his or her, their is the best alternative.

See you dude :)

To keep you always healthy, you have to do a several things.
You have to eat healthy food, and avoid eatting a lot industrialized food and other "heavy" food like: chips, hot dog, mayonese, ketchup, etc.
You have to do a lot of exercise to keep your body in shape.
Etc

Gustavo,

Please consider this rewrite and let me know if you have any questions or comments.

"To keep yourself healthy you have to do several things such as; eat healthy foods avoiding industrialized foods and especially "heavy" foods like; chips, hot dogs, mayonese, and ketchup. Additionally you need to exercise a lot to keep your body in shape."

Hi,

In my view, it's recommended to take plenty of exercise to burn calories, it's also important to follow a healthy diet and consulting your doctor on a regular basis.

Regards.
