What’s the problem? x What’s the matter?: Diferença
Gostaria de saber qual a diferença entre matter e problem.
“What’s the problem? What’s the matter?” Tinha essas duas expressões em uma mesma frase, ai fiquei confuso.
Obrigado.

O últ. Considera "What's the problem?" uma pergunta irritante.
O Google traz inúmeros exemplos de "what's the problem" e "what's the matter".
Pelo menos, neste fórum, um dos integrantes dele diz que:
"I don't hear regular English speakers say "What's the problem with you?" It's "What's wrong?", "What's the problem?", "What's the matter?" none of which are necessarily critical. You can add "with you" to the first and last, which could sound critical, depending on the context, but saying "What's the problem with you?" doesn't sound like regular English to me."
Quanto ao aparecimento das duas expressões diferentes mas com o mesmo sentido na mesma frase, aí parece-me um caso de tautologia.
Exemplos tautológicos:
"We’re meeting at ten a.m., two hours before noon."
Of course, ten a.m means two hours before noon. The second phrase adds nothing to the first.
In my opinion, they’re the best—better than all the other ones.
Again, this is simply the definition of ‘best’; it doesn’t add anything. (O "better than all the other ones" sobrou).
"Olha, me liga, viu? Me telefona, tá?" (Bastava dizer o "me liga" ou só o "Me telefona")

COMO COMBINAR PALAVRAS EM INGLÊS
Entendi! So não consegui entender qual seria o real significado dessas duas expressões juntas.
Seria uma entonação diferente? Estou confuso hahahahah

Also, in this particular case, perhaps both ways were used in the same breath to add emphasis, or irk further the other party, ha ha ha.
If so, it would be the equivalent - or almost - of our "o que é que tá pegando? Qual é o problema?". That is, in other words we are saying "qual é o problema?" twice, if we think of it.

It would spoken the way we say it in Portuguese, with a mid-pause in between.

Aqui bastava dizer uma delas. Ou "What's the problem?" ou "What's the matter?" (Qual é o problema?) Mas o interlocutor, tautologicamente, disse as duas.
INGLÊS PARA VIAGENS
Very good, Marcio! Thanks for the "tautologically" word, you don´t fail to impress and amaze me.
Thanks for making me run to the Portuguese dictionary, not that I didn´t know the word. It was only to make the learner know its meaning. Ha ha ha, just kidding around...

As tautologias são frequentemente consideradas como um erro na linguagem ou uma falta de estilo. Porém, é possível recorrer às tautologias para dar ênfase a uma determinada ideia.

Também temos a tautologia nos gestos, principalmente quando falamos muito e acabamos gesticulando demais.
