Na frase "you do have" o "do" é necessário?

I've seen this expression: You DO have one, don't you?...
About "DO" in this frase or another one, I don't think it's necessary to use it, but I want to know when and how to use it.

"Do" aqui serve para fazer perguntas (usa-se com verbos que não sejam "to be".
You do have one?
Você realmente tem um?
You do have one, don´t you?
Você realmente tem um, não tem?
Using DO in the beggining of the sentence it would be just a question - without emphasis. This emphasis to express doubt, incredulity, surprise, etc.
