Hey Jefferson, we might be in the same boat...I don't study in Cultura Inglesa, though. I study in III-Instituto Inter. de Idiomas.
I can barely do Brittish accent...

My teachers also speak American English, people from Cambridge often visit III to make sure the method is being used correctly, It seems like they haven't complained about that accent thing.

yeah I would like to learn both, but Brittish English will come as soon as I go to London...[someday ]

For now, I'll keep on learning and improving American pronounciation...

Cristiano, reading loudly really helps! And your daughter will be so good in English, since you are training her speech skills since that young, she will get used to the English way of speaking so that she will learn faster.
And yeah, as Angelica asked and Dlr answered .. you pronounced "muscle" as "musKle". Just remembering that "muscular" keeps the usual "c" sound .. like "musKular".

Nani, you also have a good English, I just found it a lil hard to listen to you.

Oh Yeah, Rafael... you may be right, almost every beginner student has that accent, I said that mainly because of his 'M' pronunciation which is similar to the 'M' we find in "canteM"...

Yes, speak English as much as possible... alone, in front of the mirror, showering, talking to family members who might not understand you, talking to plants and animals (sometimes I get the feeling my dog understands what i say :/ )...

It's have been such a long time that I don't post anything here in the forum.
I just read the blog, and sometimes I come here to see what is happening, and
I receive e-mails from EE, and when I saw the subject, I was kind of 'wow'
and then I watched Rafael's video, and it's exactly what I was looking forward.

The idea is amazing, I guess a lot of people wants to improve their pronunciation,
it's like the best step to improve your english as fast as you wish to, and go like
a native.

So that is it, I think I am back here in the forum, and as soon as possible I'll post
my video on YouTube, and I am kind of freaking nervous! OMG.

And, of course: Congratulation Rafael, for the amazing initiative, and nice of you
Gabi for first supporting his initiative, you EE all rocks!

JacksonB, I think we are in the same boat, I started my english classes last week, at Cultura Inglesa UI1 -I think you are studying there too, Idk (your book)- and of course, the English we learn there, as everybody know is British, and for me is quite a problem, because I have an american accent (almost, I guess), and I can understand better americans than britishes, and I don't know if I am doing the right thing.

But, however, when I went to my first class, my teacher have an american accent, and this was kind of woaah!

Finally, I still don't know, but I am really enjoying there, and as some expert said to me: "If you really wanna learn english you should learn both american and british", the canadian and australian come later .-.

So you're sure of studying british way?

Maybe when your baby turn 5 y-o she'll be able to make a video and join people here talking english. Have you ever thought about it?

Gostei muito do sotaque embora ele tenha exigido muita da minha concentração pois quem esta acostumando com um inglês mais americanizado tem um pouco mais de dificuldade quando pega um sotaque diferente , mas entendi tudo sem problema.

Eu achei a idéia ótima, mesmo!!!!!!Mas porque não podemos fazer uma sala de conversação de verdade.....digo...poderia ter salas para iniciantes, intermediários e avançados...podíamosusar o site do english expert para isso ou mesmo marcar uma hora para se encontrarmos no skype...eu não sei.....será que seria viável????Espero respostas de vocês.
Digo isso porque tenho muito vocabulário, mas não sei usar isso prque sempre estudei sozinha e nunca tive uma direção certa, tive uma entrevista de inglês essa semana e fui muito mal a pessoa disse que meu inglês era péssimo, fiquei super chateada e por isso determinei uma meta, vou falar essa língua fluente custe o que custar...por isso preciso de ajuda....alguém para conversar comigo...quem sabe mesmo fazer uma sala de bate papo, mas não escrito e sim falado.

I say this because I have a lot of vocabulary, but I do not use this because always studied alone and never had a right direction, I had an interview this week in English and was very bad and the person said that my English was terrible, I was very upset and so determined a goal, I will speak that language fluently whatever the cost ... so I need help .... someone to talk to me ... maybe even make a chat room, but not written but spoken.
