"I don't know how news travels around school and why it is very often right."

Bons estudos!

Hi there!

Em inglês: Where is João? nunca usando artigo...

The United States of America (correto)

:roll:

To the school is OK.
I'm going to the school today to talk to Kim's teacher.

To church... sem o "the" :?

I'm going to gift you with the game that you like.(Eu vou te presentear com o jogo que você gosta),ou seja,nesse caso quem está lendo já sabe qual jogo se trata.

Quando não usar:

Children used save their money to buy games (As crianças costumavam economizar seus dinheiros para comprar jogos),ou seja no geral,no sentido que todas as crianças entende?.

Se eu estiver errado me corrijam.
Bons estudos!

Faltou um to entre used e save.

Que tal "Where is the Fisk school of language?"?

Complementing Cinnamon´s comment.
We use "the" (definite article) before the name of countries that have "Kingdom" or "United".
And countries with the word "Republic" in it.
But, wait wait, no so fast! Countries with names that derive from a geographical feature, as archipelagos, Islands etc (The Phillipines - after THE Phillipines Islands). BUT not when the connection is tenuous as it happens with India and Indonesia.

Só para complementar as explicações :
Quando eu não uso “the”?
Diante de nomes próprios: John; Paul
Nomes de refeições:
Lunch is served.
Mas: The lunch we had was excellent
(É um almoço específico -uso o artigo)

Nome de substâncias:
Oil is produced in Brazil.
Mercury can cause chronic and acute poisoning.

Nomes de países:
Greece .Há exceções, como a que o PPaulo mencionou. Outros exemplos: The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, The United kingdom;
Cidades: Barcelona;
Ruas: Oxford street;
Parques: Central Park;
Continentes: Europe;
Montanhas: Everest;
Ilhas: Cyprus;
Lagos: Lake Geneva;

John goes to school everyday.
His father went to the school to get his marks.

Não usamos the em frente do substantivo work quando este significa local de trabalho: He’s at work.

A mesma regra vale para o substantivo home significando lugar que se vive: She’s not at home.
Mas: Paris is the home of fashion!
Italy is the home of pizza!

Não usamos the com títulos:
Queen Elizabeth mas The Prince of Wales

Qual seria o correto para "melhorando a dispersão"?

Improving dispersion ou improving the dispersion?
6 49 1.3k
Usually one would have to mention which dispersions he is talking about, dispersion "dangling" this way it´s not common (even misleading).
"Increasing dispersion" is what we say when reffering to ratios or cause-effect, here some examples:

"Overqualification, job dissatisfaction and increasing dispersion in the returns to graduate education."
"...and which mirror the generally accepted trend of an increasing dispersion coefficient with increasing flow rate."
"Increasing consumption inequality is financed by an increasing dispersion in total income, defined as the sum of earnings and asset income."
"And Thomas (2010) document increasing dispersion for 37.9% of earnings announcements in their sample over the period 1993-2006."

I partially agree. But "improving the dispersion" has to be the dispersion of something, and/or which type of dispersion.

Examples:
Stability parameters for mineral suspensions: Improving the dispersion of fillers in thermoplastics.
In this case the suspension is "mineral suspension" (type) and which would be "of fillers in thermoplastics."
Unless the dispersion has been mentioned once in an academical work/paper/study, then it could be mentioned without the article "the".

As in:
http://www.titanex.com.tw/doc/tecsuppor ... ension.pdf

There are therefore many studies dealing with
The use of particle surface treatments to improve dispersion.
(at this point the reader already which kind of dispersion the author is talking about.)

PPAULO is in this sense really:

"A compatibilizer is used that acts at the interface of the constituents of the mixture, promoting adhesion, reduction of interfacial tension and improving the dispersion."

Corrected now, thanks PPAULO and MARCIO!
