Rode a car x Ridden a car
Sabe aquela coisa que sabemos intuitivamente, sem saber explicar?
a. I've never rode a car.
b. I've never ridden a car.
Eu sei que a b está certa, mas não sei explicar. Além disso, encontrei mais ocorrências no google de a do que de b.
Sempre que haver um "have" na frase, eu devo usar particípio? Ou não necessariamente?
a. I've never rode a car.
b. I've never ridden a car.

The key in this example is "We use has or have with a past participle to describe an action that started in the past and is (or may be) still going on. "

Carla worked here for five years.
Carla has worked here for five years.
The first sentence is in the past tense: Carla once worked here but no longer does. The second sentence carries a different meaning: Carla still works here.
So I have never doesn´t agree much with RODE, but with RIDDEN.
RODE is found in the US in some states, tough. They use this way, wether if it´s grammatically right or not.

Complemento:
a. I never rode a car
b. I've never ridden a car.
* Quando usar "I have"(present perfect), o verbo a seguir deve estar no 'past participle'.
I have seen, I have never seen
You have been, you have never been
He has gotten, he has never gotten
, etc
Bons estudos!
