To eat out of bins = comer restos encontrados no lixo; comer do lixo
Exemplo:
I eat out of bins too. So what? = Eu também como do lixo. E daí?/eu também como restos encontrados no lixo. E daí?

I eat out of bins too. So what?
I thought it was some defiant statement of sorts, it turns out that is an item in the Guardian, and the Journalist explains that the food was edible, just past the selling date.

This reminded me of a city I lived (in Brazil) where bananas were sold to monied people, they would refuse to buy any fruit that wasn't "perfect", not a brownish speck allowed! Some would be thrown out.
In the other side of the city the grocery stores had speckled bananas or with noticeably blackened skins, and people would ask a 20% discount...
