Como dizer "Interruptor" em inglês

We can call the electrical component on the wall a switch. We "turn on" or (turn) off the lights/"switch on" and "switch (it) off".

By the way, we switch the lights by pushing (touching) a light switch (that is - a switch).
A TV set were usually turned on or off by pressing a button or by turning a knob.
Just pointing out that we don't always need a switch to switch on/off an equipment/TV set, etc. This is aimed to those that are at very basic English level. At beginning level, of course.

vou acender a luz

Aqui vou de português mesmo, pra facilitar as coisas. De maneira geral, se você resolve fazer algo espontaneamente, na hora em que a coisa acontece então usamos "will".
Se envolve um "planejamento", ou se é algo que "não é pra hoje", não é pra agora, então vai pra pasta de planos, de coisas a fazer depois, então "I am going to".

Na prática, se alguém diz "it seems like it's gettting dark around here." (parece que está ficando escuro aqui - talvez esteja anoitecendo), e aí você num ato quase automático diz "you're right, I will turn on the light." (tem razão, vou acender a luz) e já indo em direção ao interruptor.
Mas se a pessoa pergunta, qual a primeira coisa que você deve fazer amanhã, pois estará nublado e as janelas do escritório não deixam passar luz suficiente, então se poderia responder "I am going to turn the lights on."

Note que a tradução é "vou acender a luz (ou as luzes - na última frase)", mas a "intenção", é diferente.
