Alguém já foi ver aquelas areias desérticas do Maranhão ou as dunas maranhenses?
Então, como posso dizer a palavra lençóis para aquele lugar ?

One can´t translate into English since it´s a well-known tourist attraction, since the tourist will know beforehand that it is Lençois Maranhenses National Park.
Anyway, by way of description - the translation would be "bedsheets of Maranhão", if someone wish to explain what it is about. Obviously, one would also explain that it´s because of the rains that create temporary (some months) lagoons between the dunes of the vast dune park.
Seen from a distance and from above they would be compared to some crumped white bed linens.
